Formatting Services

Yes, I do format for other people, and I even upload them to Amazon, B&N (if the client has a PubIt/NookPress account), Kobo, All Romance eBooks and Smashwords.

For ebooks, I create mobi and epub files for you (FYI — Smashwords takes epub now) using the manuscript file you send me. I do not proofread or correct errors while formatting, and I do not go back and fix errors in the final mobi and epub for free unless they were caused by me. I handcode, so you do not need to provide any HTML, etc.

I also upload the files if you don't feel comfortable with it, and if that's the case, there will be a small extra fee for the upload service.

I create a print-ready PDF file for interior (meaning stuff that's not the cover) for you to upload to CreateSpace or whoever you feel like using for POD.

Pricing

It really depends on what you need and how complex your project is, but for most narrative novels, this is what you can expect:

Ebook
About $100-150 for a full-length novel (no more than 100k total, including front- and back-matter)

Print
About $180-250 for a full-length novel (no more than 100k total, including front- and back-matter) plus any special font I might be required to buy (with client's approval, of course)

Note: Print costs more because it requires a lot more work. First, there are more options for design, including font selection, and I may need to create a few mock-ups for you. The more complex the design, the more it's going to cost since it's a lot more work to make everything look proper/good. Second, I need to go through the file page-by-page to eliminate unsightly orphans/widows, etc. and make sure that you get a nice squared-off look throughout your book.
